The face behind Persyou

Nicholas McKie is an Associate Professor and Professional Certified
Coach working with individuals, teams and organisations all over the world to unlock their leadership potential and enhance the quality of educational practice.

Nicholas’ popular podcast, Inspiring Leadership brings engaging stories, insight and expertise from across the world of educational leadership, supported by the Federation Of British International Schools In Asia (FOBISIA).

“As the Founder and Director of Persyou, I specialise in executive leadership coaching and development with leaders across the education sector. I am a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and certified to run Energy Leadership Index and Strengthscope assessments providing both individual and group leadership profiles.

My career path has been rich and diverse, starting as a professional musician, before entering teaching in the UK and then internationally, rising to school Principal and inspector. I have led schools in Japan, Egypt, China, the US as well as the UK. Working across four continents widened my skill set and deepened my knowledge, as well as gaining an MBA in International Education.

Strangely, after such a wealth of experience, I still felt unfulfilled. This led me to explore personal growth through yoga, mindfulness, and to re-engage with my love of music. The more I learned about personal development the more I wanted to help others to experience it too. I made the decision to train as a Certified Professional Coach and establish my own business. And so Persyou began. The challenges I have faced through my experiences of teaching, the corporate world, and of working with people across the world gave me the confidence to break through to where I really want to be, both personally and professionally.

I am also an Associate Professor having developed and led the inaugural PGCE international programme at the University of Warwick, UK. This background gives me a unique perspective on leadership in a range of settings and coaching and mentoring have weaved their way through all my experiences".
